Installation Of Interact Club of Vapi
This year Youth Service activities were kick started by the installation of the interact club of vapi.

"The fourth Installation ceremony of the Interact club of Vapi was held on 24th July'08 at Hotel Gren View Vapi. The installation officer was Past President and Rtn. Vipul V. Patel. The President of Rotary
Club of Vapi Rtn. Ramesh Desai, President of Inner Wheel of Vapi Mrs. Maneesha Sharma alongwith Rotarians and Innerwheel members were present at the programme.
The Programme started with a Prayer by Interactor Jinali Chagged.During the programme outgoing president Shruti Kankaria and secretary Anish Patel expressed their experiences and the things they learnt during this period. Interactor Mugda Sharma in a very pleasant manner introduced the Installation officer to the gathering. The Installation ceremony was conducted by Rtn. Vipul Patel and the new team for 2008-09 was installed. The Team inducted for 2008-09 is :

President - Komal Patel

Secretary – Rajit Bansal

Vice President – Mugdha Sharma

Treasurer – Nikunj Vora

Directors: Anish Patel, Jinali Chajjed, Bhoomi Vora, Rajni Gajjar.

Twelve new members were also inducted in the club in this programme by the Installing officer.

he Installation officer Rtn. Vipul Patel congratulated the new team and appreciated the good work done by the outgoing team. He appreciated the spirit and the enthusiasm of the Interactors. His speech was a moral boosting speech for the young interactors.


The Incoming President Komal Patel brought forward her plans for the year. The Rotary President Rtn. Ramesh Desai and Interact Chairman Rtn. Parag Vora congratulated the new team and assured them that they would always be ready to support and help them whenever required. Komal Patel handed over a momento to the Installing officer. The vote of thanks was given by Interactor Rajit Bansal. Master of Ceremony Yesha Kotadia presented the entire programme in a very nice way. There was a cake cutting ceremony organized immediately after the meeting . The meeting was followed by delicious snacks and all the Interacors were given return gifts."

Chief Guest and installing officer of the event rtn P.P Mukesh Patel inducted the interact team for the year 2006/2007. Followed by acceptance speech by President Jaivin Patel.
 

Chief Guest and Installing Officer Rtn P.P. Mukesh Patel gave a wonderful speech. He spoke about what it interact club was and what is supposed to do. The members found it very interesting.



Interactor Ashish Bipin Chhajed thanked every body for their presence and the meeting was adjourned followed by delicious dinner.

EXCURSION:-
Rotary club of vapi had a short picnic at khanvel resort on 15th and 16th august. Many interactors joined the picnic and had a great time.

FUND RAISING FOR SURAT FLOOD RELIEF:-  Interact club of vapi had their regular meeting on 24th August in green view hotel at 6 30.p.m.
24 interact members attended the meeting.Secretary Yesha Kotadia explained the members about the floods in Surat. She explained the economic and social problems faced by the city of Surat.She appealed the members to come forward to raise funds for the people of Surat. Members raised a sum of 3000/- and donated to the Surat flood relief. Members observed 2 minute silence for the souls who have departed in this calamity.

LEARNING TO MAKE PAPER BAGS:-

Interact Secretary Yesha Kotadia emphasized the use of paper bags instead of plastic bags as paper bags are biofriendly. IW Vaishali Chhajed taught interactors how to make paper bags from the waste papers such as news papers, magazines etc.


                            INSTALLATION INTERACT CLUB OF BARDOLI:-

President Jaivin Patel attended the installation ceremony of interact club of Bardoli and addressed the gathering.


 

Rotary Navratri Mahotsav:-
Rotary Navratri Mahotsav was organized by Rotary Parivar from 23rd Sept to 2nd October 2006.Interactors joined the Rotary Parivar in organizing this event both by participating and raising funds.
Interact President Jaivin Patel raised Rs.15000/- as donation for this project. Interactor Yesha Kotadia gat the best action during the Navratri Mahostav.

Project (Paper Bags from Waste Papers):-

Interact members have been regularly making paper bags from the waste papers. They have already made about 1000 bags and sold about 800 bags. Another 2000 bags will be made by members. Interactors would be donating wheel chair to our L.G. Haria Hospital from funds collected by sale of paper bags.

Interact Week Celebration:-

Interact members celebrate the interact week from 30th October to 5th November. During this week interactors enjoyed housie game on the first day of interact week. The celebration begins with a regular meeting on 30th October at green view hotel. It was decided to organize carom and chess competitions.

On 1st of November interactors attended the family meeting at rotary club of Vapi and celebrate birth day of Rotary Vapi Charter Secretary P.D.G Vishnubhai Patel.

TALENT SHOW:-
A talent show was organized by the interact members at Vapi Public School. Interactors displayed their skills in singing, mimicry and skits.

After the talent show the interact members had a great party time.

SEMINAR ON LITERACY AT BHARUCH:-
Interact President Jaivin Patel attended the literacy seminar on 26th November 2006 at Bharuch. He also gave his presentation in the seminar.

1. Donation of one wheel chair from the amount collected by sale of paper bags.
2. Collection toys and distributing among poor children’s.
3. Participating in mini marathon for aids awareness to be organized by rotary club of vapi.
4. Inter school cricket tournament.
5. Blood donation camps.

Sports:-
Rotary Parivar Inter School Football Tournament:-
An inter school football tournament was organized by Rotary Club of Vapi, Retract Club and Interact Club on 26th Aug 2006 at Swaminarayan Gurukul Chala.

Nine schools participated in the tournament. The tournament started at 7.30 am. Refree Francisco Perira and has team from Daman conducted the matches.


 The environment on the ground was full of fun. It was great to see student of various schools along with our interact members and Rotract members playing drums and cheering up the teams.
Glucose and lemon water was available all thru the day. Tasty lunch was given to all the participating students.




Our Rotary Haria Hospital provided the services of doctor during all the matches.

The event was covered by local television media U.T. News and Vapi Today Channel.
 

After a lot of hard work best two teams reached the final. Final match started at 5.30 p.m. between Coast Guard School Daman and Ashadam School Vapi. After playing both half no result was achieved, thus match went for penalty shot out which also faced to produce any result. Finally in the second penalty shot out Ashadam School won the match.

Guest of honour gave his blessings and distributed Prasad to all the members present for the event.Certificate of appreciation was given to all the participating schools. Trophies were given to winners and runner up and to the best player of the tournament.

The concluding ceremony started by appreciating and thanking the referee Francisco Perira and his team, principal of Swaminarayan Gurukul Challa, doctor are call from rotary Haria Hospital, DRCC Rtn Harish Kothari and director youth services Rtn Nawal Bansal.

• Runner up – Coastguard School, Daman.
CURRENT PROJECT:-

INTER SCHOOL CRICKET TOURNAMENT:-
Rotary club of Vapi and Vapi Industrial Association have organized an inter school cricket tournament and VIA ground Vapi.

This is the most awaited sporting event in the town. A total of 17 schools are participating in the tournament.



The tournament started on 25th November. The first match was played between Vallabh Ashram Pardi and St. Xaviers, Vapi. It was great to see school students cheering up their teams on each ball. The tournament will continue up to 14th December. The final being played on 14th December.

 Inter school essay competition on Environment.
 Mini marathon for aid awareness.
 Inter school cricket tournament.
 Participation in district cricket matches.
