MEDICAL CAMP AT STENBARI VILLAGE, KAPRADA TALUKA, ON 13TH SEPTEMBER, 2009
By rotary club of vapi and gujarat vanvasi kalyan kendra.
Team of 6 doctors, Dr. Vikas, Dr. Rakesh Naik, Dr. Dharmendra Parmar, Dr. Bangale etc and supported by 12 nursing students from the nursing school. Rtn. Ramesh Desai and Rtn. Sanjay Mehta also attended the camp.
As many as 280 patients were screened. 10 patients were detected cataract and are called at haria rotary hospital for free cataract surgeries.
Free medicines were distributed to all patients by the members of gujarat vanvasi kalyan kendra. The programme was started by lightinening of lamp and prayer. Arragement for ex clusive lunch were made in a typical tribal style like nagli rotis etc.
1ST DECEMBER, 2009 WORLD AIDS DAY
1st december, 2009 World AIDS Day was celebrated by rotary club of vapi having trainning seminars by the vatsayan kendra run by rotary club of vapi and haria rotary hospital, the students of rofel college, workers of raymonds factory were given informative lectures on hiv and its spread. The truck drivers of trasports association were also explained the hiv spread and use of condoms in safe sex. A canled rally was organised in the evening in vapi attended by as many as 25 rotarians and motive was to spread the awareness of hiv spread and prevent the disease to spread in vapi and surrounding. The hiv centre run by our club is on a permanent project along with naco.
